Today we want to talk about three fashion illustrators to keep an eye on to bring a bit of art into your IG feeds!
The fashion illustration was born more than 500 years ago with the sketches of the designers for the realization of the clothes and has gradually become a form of art in its own right.
Pantones, pencils, watercolors, colored cards, collages an endless list of drawing techniques are used to create images inspired by the big luxury brands.
Almost until the late 1930s, the covers of Vogue were fully illustrated by hand by great illustrators, until photography took over.
Beth Fraser
Key word: extravagance!
Beth Fraser’s illustrations enchanted me with their bold and contemporary style, completely out of the ordinary
“Some collections are simply irresistible to me. I see a look and a sort of visual epiphany happens. I can already imagine exactly how I’m going to turn it into one of my works.” – Beth for Harper’s Bazaar UK
In 2019, in fact, Beth Fraser was a finalist in the fashion illustration prize established by Bazaar UK!
Beth is a London freelance artist, graduated in 2015 from the London College of fashion.
She creates her illustrations by combining the collage technique with that of painting for a multimedia effect that jumps to the eye.
Her interpretations of haute couture are very reminiscent of the style of modernist posters.

Jacky Blue
Thin figures that disappear in flashy and colorful clothes, the world of Jacky Blue sees only the Fashion, with a capital F.
Formerly known as Jacky Marshall, Blue is a British illustrator who settled in the Big Apple.
In New York, she worked for many years as a designer at Donna Karan where Central Saint Martins tutor Louise Wilson noticed her great talent!
“Louise was my mentor, my number one fan, a great friend, who encouraged me to draw and photograph all the time.”
Since 2017 Jacky is dedicated only to her paintings inspired by the collections of Haute Couture and Ready To Wear.
In an interview for Vogue in 2019, on the occasion of an exhibition in her honor, Jacky defined the style of her drawings as “spontaneous, bold but delicate, feminine” and admitted that she’s been drawing “fashion girls” since the age of four.

Amelie Hegardt
Learn to do everything lightly. Lightly, my dear. – are some sentences of a beautiful poem by Aldous Huxley.
These words remind me so much of the drawings of Amelie Hegardt: a light trait although strongly distinctive.
Amelie Hegardt lives between London and Stockholm but is originally from Sweden.
Her pastel and watercolor drawings are the reason for her success as an illustrator, Hegardt, in fact, works with various customers such as Vogue Japan, MAC Cosmetics, Sephora, and Harrods.
Her creations are an impeccable mix of contrasting emotions, styles, and femininity.
In an interview on Metal Magazine, Amelie, to the question “How would you describe your style in three words?”, answered:
“Gosh, it’s too hard to describe a style. I don’t like it when it’s too good-looking or flashy. I hope it can be as simple as it is interesting.”
