Ecoalf is a Spanish brand created in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, designer interested in sustainable production and recycled materials.
The brand was founded by the paradox of “Trashumanity“: recognizing rubbish as an intrinsic feature of the human species of the twenty-first century, you can start to change the world. The “Trashumanity» of Ecoalf is not utopia, but awareness of the existence of a new generation of informed consumers, tired of sacrificing beauty
The brand recycles the classic PET to make polyester and turns old tires in slippers and soles of sneakers. In these classic recovery operations, supports the transformation of coffee in textile fiber. Thecoffee fibre is UV-resistant, breathable, lightweight, soft and flessibile. From fishing nets, silent killer of marine ecosystems, draws back the nylon.
These textile technologies are turned up in jackets, Ecoalf joins the style of urban and contemporary designers in a postmodern view of Greek kalokagathia (Beauty and Good).
For once, the rejection is a good news … Trash is the new black?
